Isolation – The Photographic Benefits
One area of photography I’m keen to improve my skills in is in macro imagery. Particularly challenging is to create images of insects with camera handheld and natural light.
The past few days have provided wonderful light and plentiful six-legged visitors. I found it invaluable to observe the flowers and see what was attracted, and when. It was obvious very quickly to wait for the creatures to appear in the area I was prepared for. Camera set – manual worked better for me. Focus, aperture, shutter speed and ISO. The focus would be set to the flower, usually, and the shutter released at the opportune moment.
The experience is very useful. Patience needs to be honed. Being prepared helps. And the process I am working on allows me a certain amount of opportunity, such as the bee in flight approaching cherry blossom seen in the second image below.
Love these. Third attempt to comment though. WordPress playing up, so the war and peace effort earlier has not been replicated.
Any comment from you, whatever the length and breadth, is appreciated, Tim. Hope all’s well with you both 🙂
