“Mindfullness – Wellbeing – Recovery” A Free pdf book download
‘Mindfullness’ is currently the rage. Its roots can be traced to many other experiences that prompt positive contemplation in order to look to the future with hope and aspiration. Meditation and yoga stem from eastern thinking. Westernised approaches contributed to this base through ‘Wellbeing’ and ‘Recovery’ – both terms that have been in the ‘Mental Health’ domain for decades.
The book ‘Recovery Is… Journeys to wellbeing’ was a collaborative project I led, finalised in creating a book. I asked for contributions from those who were either managing mental ill health, or who had experienced such episodes in their lives, to identify what helped them to focus on a positive outlook.
With my interest in ‘visual literacy’ contributors sent in images of their ‘catalysts of positivity’ with, where they felt useful, a written explanation of the experience and what it did to provoke a sense of wellbeing. The submissions covered a wide range of ‘positive experiences including, friends and family, painting, environment, dry sone walling … amongst many others.
The following montage are pages from a book I created a few years ago, well before the current interest in awareness of Mindfullness. But the crossover is equally relevant. Small, and sometimes not so small, elements of our lives can help bring about really positive attitudes, get us out of a rut, promote creativity in our own lives. .
Being aware of what others notice is important to their own positive thinking, may help you notice more, heighten your awareness of, the small elements of your life that bring happiness and positivity to yours.
The following montage are pages from the book. The link to download the full 120 pages can be found below.
