Faith: In Colour
It is not easy for find out the exact age of Devi Temple. People I have asked give a range of 200 – 300 years old. A few even older, possibly 400. However old, it is likely to have a played an important role in the history of this part of Navi Mumbai, being only a few hundred metres from the remains of Belapur Fort – one of hundreds of fortifications throughout Maharastra built, or developed, by the regions greatest leader Chhatrapati Shivaji.
Devi Temple remains a beautiful and well maintained building, very much in use today. Being a mere 20 metres from my accommodation, it is a lovely place to pass each morning and evening too and from work.
